I remember lots of ‘secret staircases’ and steps leading to the bell tower.I also remember the basement and the gymnasium built underneath.I would love to see the architectural renderings and how they compare to what I remember…
Thanks for this. It reinforces my admiration for Bishop Stevens for stances re deaf clergy in the 1870s. St Stephen’s rector Dr McConnell worked on the project, I see. Good for him.
