Thanks for posting this program. Once again I am happy to learn more about the history of the parish and to see the names of my family in the program. My aunt, Mrs. Marie Groce, is listed as the President of the Rector’s Aid Society. Also listed as patrons are my Aunt and Uncle: Mr and Mrs. Clarence Burchette(Doris Groce).
Bruce – Thank you for your comment. I am happy to report I found a few more snapshots of St. Monica’s at the Archives of the Diocese of Pennsylvania. I am always on the lookout for St. Monica’s material!
My name is Olga (Marge) Thomas. My family and I were members of St. Monica’s. My dad Clarence Thomas was one of the Vestry Men. My sister and I were members of the choir along with the McIvers, the Hayden’s, the Spiveys and when Mrs. Blair was the choir mistress. My mom, dad along with other church members started the Teenage Canteen. I was the first President. So many wonderful memories. My daughter and son were christened by Father Davis. I will always remember the wonderful times I spent there.
