I have just finished transcribing a letter of Adeline Blanchard Tyler (1805-1875), “the first deaconess,” who met “Rev. Dr. Batterson” in Oxford in 1872. I was delighted to be able to learn about Rev Dr B from material you posted and am grateful for all the work you have done to document and share this critically important information. Wish that my diocese (Mass.) where I served as deacon at Boston’s Church of the Advent for 14 years had something like this!
