Are there old archives of the Episcopal Church of the Beloved Disciple, somewhere ? – My parents were married there, in May, 1935 – –
This is a stretch- but – in South Philadelphia 1900 to 1930 there was a string band, all African American – The Vesuvius Guitar, Mandolin, and Banjo Club – My Grandfather was a member. he was Methodist, and member of Tindley Temple on Broad street – But the band would have performed at Episcopal Churches, and any others. Have you ever heard of it ? I have a large photo, and concert programs. – Thanks Richard F. America richard.america@georgetown.edu 703 437 7151
